We’re thrilled to announce that booking is now open for the 2025 season! Whether you’re planning an educational school trip or a private rental, now is the perfect time to secure your dates. Visit our School Group or Private Rental pages to place your booking and get ready for an unforgettable outdoor experience.

Exciting New Equipment for 2025!

We are excited to introduce a new fleet of ride-on-top kayaks, available for students and private groups alike. These kayaks are perfect for exploring the serene waters of Cameron Lake and offer a fun and safe way to connect with nature. Please note, equipment rentals are only available to school groups or private groups that are renting the facility, and no equipment is allowed to leave the premises.

Canoeing Update

For those looking forward to canoeing, we currently require a certified individual other than the coordinator to lead the activity. We are actively working towards offering certification courses so that more groups can enjoy canoeing in the future. Stay Tuned!

Popular Fall activities include:

  • Pond Studies: Dive deep into the fascinating world of pond life by exploring both macro and micro invertebrate communities.
  • Mountain Biking: Take on the trails, practice agility, and hone your skills while enjoying the scenic beauty of our interior trails.
  • Hiking: Enjoy a short education hike, or pack a day bag and let’s explore! Day hikes may last up to 4 hours and students will need to bring a prepared backpack including a light trail snack and adequate water supply.
  • Wilderness Survival: Students to build shelters, prepare fire from scratch, and learn essential skills to stay safe in the wilderness. It’s an immersive way to connect with nature while learning survival techniques. This is a half or full day activity, not available in hourly activity rotation.
  • Archery: Test your focus and precision and practice your Robin Hood skills.
  • Arts in Nature: This fall, join us for creative activities like Botanical Arts and Eco-Printing, where elements of nature are printed onto fabric or paper. Or, explore the landscape with Watercolour Painting, and complete a step-by-step guided painting of the area.

Winter at Cameron Lake

Don’t forget- we’re open year-round! Winter months at the Cameron Lake Outdoor Education Centre offer a whole new set of activities to enjoy. From skiing and snowshoeing to shelter building and snow studies, there’s plenty to do in the colder months. Groups are encouraged to embrace the winter season and enjoy the beauty of Cameron Lake in all its frosty glory.

Friendly Reminders:

  • Please ensure all adult chaperones are prepared to lead activities during your stay.
  • Students should come with proper footwear for the season and activity, such as gumboots in the spring. Please avoid Crocs or flip-flops for activities like hiking and mountain biking.
  • As there are no janitorial services at the Centre, we kindly ask that you plan to clean up before departing and take all garbage and recycling with you.
  • Please bring your own containers for leftovers, as kitchen items are not available for borrowing.
  • The office space is reserved for staff use, so we ask that you avoid using items from the drawers or plugging in devices there.

We can’t wait to welcome you back for another incredible year of outdoor education and adventure! Book your trip today and join us for an unforgettable experience, no matter the season.
